Holy Rosary Major Seminary
Celebrating 50 Years of Forming Priests
Forming young men with generous hearts to become the future shepherds of Christ’s flock has been the joy and the privilege of the Holy Rosary Major Seminary for the last 50 years. As we prepare to begin our 51st year of forming holy, competent priests, we ask you to please consider a gift to the Holy Rosary Major Seminary. We are indebted to you for your prayers and support and humbled by your faith in our endeavor. Your generosity is a gift to the seminarians who have embarked on the exciting journey of preparing to become tomorrow’s shepherds.
In The Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis passionately encourages the Church to “go forth” to become an evangelizing community, and pointing out new paths for the Church’s journey for years to come. The core mission of Holy Rosary Major Seminary is the formation of men for the priesthood – men who will be heroic leaders, humble servants, and holy priests after the heart of Jesus Christ. Pope Francis has challenged our seminarians to become pastors in the image of Jesus, the Good Pastor; and to resemble Him and to act on His behalf in the midst of His flock.
Holy Rosary Major Seminary aims to pursue initiatives to create a dynamic environment – relevant to our challenging times – while preserving our deep-rooted legacy of Christian faith. The programs offered in this seminary prepare our seminarians for the responsibilities of parish life in addition to the academic, spiritual, apostolic, and human formation programs. This pursuit of excellence will bring long-term benefits to the people of God, here in Bicol and in mission places elsewhere.
I therefore encourage you to renew your commitment today with a financial gift. Our current generation of seminarians needs you, the faithful, whom they will serve.
Aside from your prayers, you can help us by sending your contributions for the formation of seminarians. Your gift will be of great help in continuing our vision for forming diocesan priests equipped with the necessary skills in facing the challenges of our times.

OTHER POSSIBLE WAYS TO SUPPORT THE SEMINARY
HRMS ANNUAL FUND
The HRMS Annual Fund consists of the collection of gifts from alumni, friends, the business community, religious groups, for the operations of the Seminary. To reach this goal, your gift is needed.
Each year, tuition covers only part of a seminarian’s education.
An additional Php 1,000 per seminarian every month is needed to cover all costs for priestly formation.
The Holy Rosary Major Seminary needs the financial support of our loyal and generous alumni, parents and friends to bridge the gap.
Annual fund gifts are unrestricted and can be used for ongoing current expenses. Restricted gifts provide budgetary support for current operations as well. It will assist us in meeting our operating expenses.Their use may be specifically designated for areas such as the Renovation Projects, athletics, departmental needs, library or maintenance projects.Donations support the general fund and help minimize the costs to seminarians. Your donation to the Annual Fund will help us provide much needed financial assistance to some of our seminarians who are dedicated to witnessing to the Gospel message and who are preparing to be leaders in tomorrow’s Church.
A strong Annual Fund helps the Seminary remain stable. A healthy Annual fund means that seminarians are benefiting from fully funded student programs that enhance the formation experience.
The Annual Fund also provides for these important student programs:
Recollection and Retreats
Psycho-Spiritual Formation Programs
Skills Training and Development
HRMS DEVELOPMENT FUND
The Holy Rosary Major Seminary Development Fund is a special restricted fund aimed at providing a sustainable resource for the present and future needs of the seminary. For a contribution of ONE MILLION PESOS (Php 1,000,000.00) in staggered or one-time donation, one can provide a lasting legacy in supporting the formation of young men to become pastors of the local Church of Bicol.
In gratitude for this generous contribution, the name of the donor or the name of a loved one in whose honor the donation is made will be etched on the Benefactor’s Wall at a designated place at the Holy Rosary Major Seminary. The intentions of the donor and their loved ones will be remembered ad perpetuam at all masses in the chapel. A Certificate of Donation will also be given in recognition of this generous help.
On the anniversary of the Dedication of the Good Shepherd Chapel, benefactors are invited annually for a dinner with the seminarians to express our gratitude and to allow them to meet those they help.
